Their flaming blade, etched in runes, poised high,
Something so terrifying, it even makes demons shy,
Hidden under a chillingly dark hood,
To bring man to his knees, they could.
One glance sears one's eyes out, each step brings them nearer.
All of our fears are but a reflection of them, in the mirror.
Spirits scream at the burn of the runed blade,
And yet, to be a servant was why they were made.
They beckon from beyond death,
Beyond lies, beyond sin and Seth.
Beneath the cloak of grey,
It is with souls they play.
With one breath they could kill,
And yet, they serve higher's will.
A terrifying being, where at the devil's throat rests their knife,
And yet This hooded horror is a loving guardian of the afterlife.
